Question on DD hammock and tarp setup

    Hallo,

I have a DD Travel Hammock, I just ordered the DD tarp 3x3 and I have a questions on the setup:

The ridge line (supporting the tarp) goes above the tarp, so, in case of rain, water won’t drip on the hammock through the ridge line.
I lift up the hammock net through 2 cords. Each of these cords is tied at one end on the net and at the other end on the ridge line (or the tree).

For those not knowing the DD travel hammock, see this video at 08:25 to understand the setup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8N-R...eature=related

My question is what happens if it rains?
Won’t the water drip in the hammock through the cords lifting up the net?
How can I prevent this? Should I tie a drip line on each of these cords?

Using drip lines was what I was advised to use in order to prevent water dripping into my hammock through the hammock webbing. But I am not sure if the same trick would work with the cords supporting the net of the DD hammock (as they do not run horizontal)

    Has anyone any idea?

    Many thanks!

My son uses a DD 3mx3m with his Skeeter Beater hammock which has a similar netting set up to your DD. We always run the shock cords to the tie outs on the tarp rather than to the tree.

Thanks MikeM! I did not know you could do this.
So if I understand well, I will need to use an adjustable knot to allow lifting up the net as high, or low, as I want (when I use the hammock without the tarp, I tie a prusik knot on the ridge line; so I adjust the height of the net by sliding the prusik knot on the ridge line).

I will try out this once I receive my tarp!
    Thanks!
