Bear Burrito is not just an expression

    Greeetings All

I know how we like to use the expression Bear Burrito for our hammocks, however this video below from a fellow Canadian Hammocker up in the Yukon Territory shows the term is very much more than an expression.

Moral of the story is to be smart about your bear safety and be sure you are adequately prepared for an unexpected bear encounter.

    Cheers

    But they's so cute...

There are patches that will work on those holes since they are holes. Large tears and toast but holes are reasonably easy to fix. I forget the name of the most popular but it stretches and moves with the fabric to form a very reliable and secure mend. The bug net can be fixed with a small patch sewn to over the hole. I'll bet if you asked nicely some of the cottage industry folks would send you a couple scraps from their waste pile.

IMO the hammock is not toast. Just well used. Glad you are ok bushman.... I'll bet folks here can get you back into that hammock pretty quick.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Glad he wasn't in it! And I don't recall hearing a "boys & girls" from him the whole video. That's good!

Yikes! Glad you weren't in the hammock!
Closing that area sounds like a prudent measure. The bears certainly are not shy.
Thanks for taking the time to share.

That makes me want to go find a bear den, and bite holes in it.
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.

I was wondering what I could use to patch the holes in the screen other than sewing a patch or screen patch. There has to be another method. The tyarp is history. I never liked the HH tarp anyway. Rain coverage is horrible. I still prefer my Superfly I will still hang of course No problemo! Just gotta' pick your spots! This area is for trailers and truck campers

Well, that makes you feel safe! Thanks for the video, Brian and Bushman!

I will never forget seeing that HUGE Grizzly apparently leaving a main campground, crossing the road in front of us, in Denali!

Now we have bears spotted near Booneville, MS just up the road from me. I guess they are starting to move in down here now!

Check this out in TN at Clingmans Dome:

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us....that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now.
