That looks nice. Even the green is pleasant

Is this the same concept as the Garlington insulator? I have been thinking about making one of those. The JRB version looks a lot nicer and more versatile.

We have had a lot of fog lately, and I have had pretty bad condensation on my underquilt one morning. Would the weathershield help with that?

The "taco" is the same working concpet as the Garlington insulator. I used the old weather shield in this fashion with a older gossamer gear 1/4 wide thinlight pad and was comfortable down into the high 40's. I think this version is a bit of a imporvment along those lines.
As it looks, it should. The old weather shields work fairly well in my exerience, and thats the main pourpose of a weather shield. It looks to me that the black part is the breathable section, while the moss green is the windproff waterproff part. As it stands, lookis like a winner to me. As always YMMV

I went back to the website, and the first sentence in the description actually says:
Protects your quilts from fog, heavy dew, and rain splash and provides 5 to 10 degrees additional warmth.
Guess I got distracted by all the pictures and didn't bother reading the text.

Now, I am wondering if a weathershield could be converted into a hammock sock with the addition of one panel of DWR that could be deployed over the ridge line when desired. The DWR should add less than 2oz, all one would need is a clever way of closing it up that does not way too much...

Jacks: Stop making such cool gear.

OK don't stop... maybe you can just give me an excuse to explain my weathershield purchase to my wife. My wallet is burning!

Your quilt is quite an investment, and you want to protect that investment. What better time than right now when there is an introductory offer of $49.95. That is less than what it cost for one time at the hair dresser. Wow what a deal.

Sounds like you're about to make him an offer he can't refuse...
