    Weather resistant zippers

Does anyone know a trick for installing the pull on a WR zipper ? I made sure I ordered the right pulls for this style zipper. I dont have any problems with regular coil zippers but this WR is evidently smarter than I am. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

I just went back to OWF's zipper page & scrolled to the bottom of the page and found a Zipper Jig. Has anyone used one of these ? I don't want to shell out $48.40 plus shipping to find out that it isn't really required.

They have always been great to deal with. I will call in the morning & see what they say. BTW, if you are ordering from them, ask about any specials or reduced material. I was ordering some GGR and I was told about a complete roll that was discounted because the outside layer was dusty. I ordered it and when I got it I couldn't believe they discounted it, but I wasn't complaining.

Are their great differences between installing a normal nylon Zipper and the Weather Resistant Zipper? I just installed a nylon Zipper into my DIY Claytor and had no problem by following the instructions I found on other zippers that I have installed. The main thing is to sew them in, or at least baste them into both sides while it is zipped up. The unzip and complete the real stitches that will make it secure. Mule

I just bought some #5 coil zipper for my Clator clone. I bought the WR zipper for some belt pouches and hopefully a backpack. The zipper pulls went right on the #5 with little effort. The jig that OWF has is probably the ticket for the WR. I am making hammocks, tarps and misc. gear for my four kids so I may end up using the jig quite a bit.
