    Toggle Socks

Had this idea the other night and I don't think I've seen it yet. (maybe? )

I tried mocking up the idea with staples first and it seemed to work. Its much tighter sewn as shown which makes it a bit obnoxious to get the toggles out but I think there may be a break in period on that.

I simply folded over the last ~2.5" of webbing and ran the very edges through the injector.

This gives me a place to store the toggles so I'm not fishing in the bag for them and after I wrap the webbing on the tree the toggle is right there waiting for me to use it.

These toggles are half inch oak with a Turk's head at the end made out of braided mason line. The Turk's head will help me find them if I drop one and gives me some grip on the toggle when removing it from the marlin spike hitch or from the sock. To make sure its secure I tightened the knot up first leaving it closer to the middle of the toggle. I then ran a bead of super glue around the end of the toggle and slid the knot down over the glue pressing down on some cardboard to make sure not to yank the knot off completely.

I sanded them a bit with some 1000 grit I had laying around but its probably not needed. It did let me round the tapered end into a neat bullet shape. If I decide they're too hard to get out of the socks I can sand them some more to loosen them up a hair.

Nice work! You incorporated hammocking, woodwork, and knotwork into one spiffy little package- with the added efficiency play of the lightweight pocket.

That's cool...I'm way too lazy. My toggles stay permanently attached to the adjustable loop of my whoopies. They don't get lost and it keeps me from pulling a "DOH" and pulling my whoopies inside-out.

Couldn't you actually just use the toggles without taking them out of the webbing? Seems even easier.
