I see your point Wags..but I'm a little leary about scooching my hammock up close to the fire pit. And theres not always two good trees next to the fire pit. And for social gatherings like group hangs, its almost impossible to find the right location for four or five hammocks plus tarps and a fire pit.
A chair can be used, a hammock can be used.

I also find it sometimes easier to have a chair to sit by the fire. I would much rather sacrafice my chair to the firey spark gods than my hammock!

I'm casting my vote for the alite I love it I will even go as far as to get it out when we are hanging out in the backyard or on the porch great chair if it ever breaks I will pay the money for a new one

+1!!! I love it one of my favorite purchases!!! It also saves wear and tear on the hammock. 2 weeks ago, after a long hike I jumped into the waterfall, swam to cool off then sat in my Alite to dry off without getting my WBBB wet and nasty, plus it's much easier and safer to cook out of than my hammock. The first time I did coook and eat in my hammock I was scared to spill stuff in it. I was just imagining Yogi coming at night to see what was for dinner...
