    re-fluffing down?

After my trip, I have noticed a major decrease in down loft in both my TQ and UQ? How do I re-fluff it? I think it includes drying it on low heat, but i just want to hear peoples experience.

Shake it out good for starters. Run through the dryer on very low/no heat with a few tennis balls. The tennis balls will serve to break up any lingering clumps. _Do not wash it unless hygiene requires it._
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

how old and how many trips do you have on the set?
after being packed and compressed i like to leave mine lay out for a week befor i hang them back up...

down can go years without a wash or loss of loft as long as they did not get soaked in water...

my JRB Hudson river is almost 4 years old and never been washed and has at least 150+ nights and still lofts like new ...

like Rev said a good shake and let it lay out and it should be fine
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Never, ever store down quilts in a stuff sack if you are not on the trail. Constant compression will cause the down to lose loft. Always store them loosely hung or at the very most in a large storage bag like a king size pillow case. Them puppies love to breathe deep.

I have personally used these on some down items that I was having trouble re-lofting after a couple months of humidity/sweat/dampness on the AT. They worked wonders! I have used tennis balls as well as other items, but they tend to get stuck inside the items you are tumbling and these do not. Two Thumbs UP!

I keep mine on the bed. It's loft seems to be effected by both humidity and temperature in the room. But, warming it up in the sun shine always seems to get it puffed up to normal.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.

Hey GLP... I understand how you could have applied my statement to you. But I assure you I was posting a simple, declarative statement helping the OP. I figured it was worth a reminder to the folks new to down gear. The same applies to synth butnot as important as with down.
