You mention waterproof though. As a general rule you want hammock material that's breathable. Just something to consider.

You're right, I completely left out a part of my OP. I was talking about a rain fly. The body material is actually breathable and water-resistant. I'll edit it now, thanks!

Officer Candidate School for the US Army so who knows how much I'll be using a hammock soon

You will not have much time for hanging in a hammock during OCS but you will get plenty of time outside in the fresh air

Thanks, gunner! I'm looking forward to long hours and constant thinking on my feet. Maybe they'll let me bring along my hammock for training exercises (but I doubt it).
