    Thanks everybody.
If ya'll are ever this far south (New Orleans), let me know, and maybe we could have a good 'ol southern hang with some great fixins! --red beans, poboys, grits, etc.

My roommate from college is from Nola, great place. I went down with him about a year after Katrina, was amazed how much was rebuilt and yet so much destruction still everywhere. But the food... omg the food... I need a bucket I'm drooling so much!

Hi and welcome! Great to hear from a Louisianian! I grew up in New Orleans and miss it very much, even after the awful mess Katrina made of it. I still make red beans & rice every week, po'boys whenever I can get some decent oysters. They sell Tabasco and Crystal here in NC, and Tony Chachere More Spice. Good thing, or I'd be a goner!

Happy hanging in bayou country but watch out -- you know the song, if the skeeters don't get you, the gators will! Naah, never happen. The spanish moss will just creep down and grab ya! (Maybe you can make whoopies with it)

I'm not but a couple hours or so out from you (definitely close enough to remember-with a shudder-the horror we call Katrina...), so you better watch out or I'll take you up on that! Welcome to HF!
