Video & pix: Base Camping @ Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness MI

Liz and I got away over the 4th of July weekend and spent Friday night to Tuesday morning at Nordhouse Dunes. Just hiked in and set up a base camp and day hiked, played on the beach, practiced open fire cooking, and relaxed in general for a couple of days. The weather was perfect the whole time and it was good to get away for a few days. Here's some pix and video, thanx for look'n.

    I haven't watched the .mov yet and will . . .

. . . but had to comment on the vibrent photos.

Reminds me of the first days that I saw and used Fuji Film, back in the day.

That 4th pic down is amazing. I really like those sunset shots.
I'm curious about the calzone and cake. I will have to do some research on that. Looks like I have some more DO experiments in my future... Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Bradley, I was a big fan of Fuji Velvia back in the day, but digital has made life sooo much easier. I like saturated colors thats for sure.

Thanx MuseJr, I'm a sucker for sunsets myself.
For that calzone, we just got powered spaghetti sauce (by the gravies etc at walmart) and just added water (didn't bother with the can of tomato paste) then added cheese, onions and pepperoni and let 'er rip. 'Twas some good eat'n.
    Good luck,

Great trip! Loved the 360 pan of the lake and area. Perfect spot to hang out. You camp meals were amazing! I always go simple, way simple, as I'm too hungry and afraid of messing it up. Instant mashed potatoes and the like for me! One of these days a trip report like this is going to really inspire me to cook something delicious like ya'll did and treat myself on trail!

    Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful photos. Still need to watch the video. This time of year almost makes me jealous of you guys that don't suffer the 100+ temps during the months of June, July, and August... then I remember that you suffer through wicked winters and everything evens out.

Thanks for sharing. Pics are beautiful. Glad y'all could get away. Looked like a beautiful place and that there is a nice trail system. Great lakes must be something to see.
