    Hello from Toronto

Just wanted to say Hi and thanks for all the information on this well-organized forum.

I'm new to doing this all myself and am a bit overwhelmed my all the information there is out there. I have very fond memories as a kid eagerly waiting for my grandfather to set up his repurposed-parachute hammock my grandmother had made him [never wasted a thing back then] and have since realized year after year that things are just not quite the same without a hammock camping or not

    Welcome Leemur

In case you weren't aware this is a group paddle/hang being planned for the first weekend of October in Algonquin Provincial Park. Check out this thread in the trip planning area for details.

If you're up to the task, the Hammockers of Ontario also winter camp at a local camp ground.

    Cheers

    Brian

Welcome from a displaced Torontonian! As Brian mentioned, there is good group of Ontario hangers that meet up. Keep your eyes open for group hang threads. Have fun!

My new hammock just arrived in the mail! However the straps seem to be delayed in transit Time to re-purpose some webbing until they arrive

Thank you for the warm welcome. Unfortunately I'm already confirmed for Killarney for mid-September and Vermont for October. The winter hang sounds like fun but I'm going to wait until I've saved up for more gear to not popsicle (and convince the SO to hang)

Shug's video how-tos are so much fun! Thanks for the link.
