Sounds good to me and is what I was going to suggest.

I'm wanting to do another section or 2 or 3 this summer anyway. Was going to try to thru hike it this year but I think, being a newbie to all this, it might be biting off more than I can chew given my current pack and equipment. I'm talking to Outandback and others now about that and have already taken steps to lighten my load.

There are so many KOOL places for hikes and hangs like the one we just did.
The CT is good but we've got stuff even better.
Indian Peaks Wilderness Area hiking thru Pawnee Pass is one I was thinking about.

I am the least experienced thru hiker(never doing one) so take my advice with that in mind.
I don't think superfly sized tarps and full length UQ would be in my pack if I was hiking farther than what we did on this trip.
For me to do 10+ miles a day a good pack weight would be 20# or less with water.

    YMMV

    Understandable. I'll look at a 3/4 UQ.

I don't know what tarp ****(Food) had but it seemed a little small for my liking, at least for the weather conditions we were seeing. I'll be looking at something between his and the Superfly.

I had HammockGear make me a summer 3/4 UQ with 1 additional oz of 900fill down. I selected the overstuffed summer because I did not want the weight of the extra fabric in a 3 season. I've been down to 38F with high humidity and it's been toasty warm. I will be backyard testing it this winter to see how low it will go.

I used an OES Delux syl nylon with removable 2QZQ Griz Beak door on one end all last winter and loved it.
Even with high winds and blowing snow I stayed dry.

A few picts of winter hanging with that tarp.

OES Delux with HH snakeskins fully ridged with 2.2 Lash-it, no stakes.

    O&B,
Does that weight include the removeable door? TZQ

And it would be nice if we could move further south in Co.

    HI Fronkey,
I was hoping you'd checkout the trip report. Thanks for the comments.

I hope you know you are always welcome to come visit.
We don't need a planned group hang to go hiking. I hike and hang year round.
Just bring some jumper cables so I can tap a bit of your energy
not to sure I could keep up with you on the trail.

    Hi TZQ,
No you would have to add another 5.6oz to the total weight if you chose to take the doors in summer.

As for picking a place for next summers Colo. hang.
We're some where between 11 and 13 months out. Heck we have a Colo Winter Hang to plan.
I'm sure many places will be offer up and discussed over the up coming months.

I wasn't planning on hosting this one just attending so where ever it
is held I'm sure it will be a great time.

    O&B,
With the additional door weight of 5.6oz the SuperFly with ONE door would only be 1oz heavier and have a good deal more coverage.
    OES Deluxe Sil = 16.4 + 5.6 = 22oz; SF Sil = 19.0 + 4.0 = 23oz

I'll confirm the ACTUAL SF weights with ONE door in the next day or so.

I think you should weigh your SF tarp with guidelines, ridgeline, door lines, and hardware in the stuff sack, no stakes.
    I think you'll be quite surprised. 19 + 4 is a bit conservative.

As for carrying a door, I do not except in winter.
Here is my OES Delux over top of my HMG Cuben tarp the one I used at the hang. I had no doors with 1 side in porch mode
and was perfectly dry thru all the rain storms we encountered. The OES syl would have kept me just as dry but it weighs
twice what the cuben weighs. So I backpack with the cuben and pulk the OES with door in winter.
