    Boy Scout stores

I was browsing the various camping/backpacking gear in our local BSA National store. As I was, I found two sets of ENO Slapstraps (crap straps) on the shelf. They said they didn't get the hammocks in yet!
Granted, they rarely sell for less than retail, but if you buy from your local scout store (you don't have to be a scout), it is sales tax free. In my case that is 10% off.

They do get some good deals from time to time. They were the cheapest at the time on Platypus 1L bottles when I got them. Even Amazon was higher.

If our National store has ENO, so will the rest of the National stores. ENO sure seems to have their "A game" when it comes to getting their product out there for the consumer.

I also just saw a write up on Trails.com to leave your tent behind and bring a hammock! Everybody jump on the hammock wagon, the Whoopies will hold!

Same here, was in our Scout store yesterday, and they had the slap straps too, but apparently there is a problem with ordering the hammocks, and theyll have them soon. Considering the distribution center for the U.S. is 20 yards behind our store, Ill take their word for it.

I think $15. I really didn't pay much attention. The Scout stores stay even across the board so they will be the same price in all of them. I heard the Pensacola Scout store had the Hammocks in stock. They are only carrying one color combo and it is a single nest.

That is how I got started. Last year at summer camp (Camp Rock Enon) they were selling ENO hammocks, bugnet, slap straps, etc in the Trading Post and I got a full set-up for myself.
Got on the forum and found out what I had discovered in already that the slap straps were useless due to stretch.

Many mods later, I still use that original Eno.

This year the Trading Post at Camp Raven Knob was selling the Byer Traveller Lite hammocks with no other gear.
The couple of boys and one adult that bought them tried theirs and mine and took them back as my set-up was so much more comfortable.
