Well, I really thought I was gonna make this one.
But the sister-in-law and her kids are descending on us tomorrow. She hemmed and hawed about her arrival and then picked the worst time for my social calendar.

I'm packed like I usually do for a backpack but have re-supply in the car. I also have a Giant can of Hod Dog Chili in the car for Saturday night. That thing weighs more than my pack!

Now look, I am not bringing a cast iron dutch oven to cook it in so we'll just have to do it in the can unless someone has a large "not so heavy" pot....HUMMMM,, Wisenber, Do I recall you bought one for the Roan Higher Colder Hang? Hint Hint....

Someone else will have to lug a 20 quart pot this time. The work fairy has visited and left a rather foul smelling gift under my pillow. While you folks are having fun, I'll be enjoying some 18 hour work days.

I'd get angry at my boss, but being self-employed, that is somewhat counterproductive.

Good to hear. I was watching part of a documentary on PBS last night about the CCC & the work they did back in the days, & John Rock was mentioned a couple times. The CCC had one of their many base camps there.

That's pretty cool Slowhike, I love to hear about local history. Wish you could've made it, you missed a heck of a thunderstorm. I promise I didn't "request" one.
