i like the looks and lay of the "new to me" sb 1.9 single.
test drove it most of tonight.
i was/am skeptical of the extra step of the bugnetting. a tried and true HH and wbbb guy...(and sure, maybe lazy -or- believing in absolute simplicity) i struggled all evening with the avoidance of tying knots or utilizing extra hardware or prussiks or connecting to a tarp ridge---(i don't always hang a tarp)
ended up rigging up the bugnet with an in-line girth hitch on the stock 'orange line' coming off the shockcord- this hooks onto the marlin spike, or dutch clip/ carabiner at tree- whatever you choose.
can't wait to test it this weekend and carry on the conversation about creating a truly netless, open hammock out of the switchback.
added below for weight junkies...
the switchback 1.9 single layer hammock and bishop sack (stock)- rigged with 6ft. 7/64" amsteel whoopies, 6ft AHE camo polyester webbing straps and whoopieslings arrowshaft toggles-------------27.7 oz's.

Hang the hammock and then just turn it overcan't wait to test it this weekend and carry on the conversation about creating a truly netless, open hammock out of the switchback.. Alan was the leader in that discovery. Done it multiple times in the back yard. Best of both worlds.
