ive slept in my hammock full time now for about a year (thats is when my gf isnt over) but then sometimes i still sneak away in the middle of the night when i cant get comfortable in the bed.

I live in a basement and finished it myself, i put 2 heavy duty hooks in the wall studs, i have them doubled just for this purpose. i only weigh 125 so i havent seen any damage yet and doubt i ever will.

Another full-timer here. My go-to home hammock is an old ENO double strung up in the living room, though sometimes I hang the Brazilian I got from a street vendor down there a few years ago. My bed is for sorting laundry now, except for when...well, you know.

You guys are lucky! Though my snoring is bad enough for my girlfriend to want me to sleep outside a few nights a week, the times I've went on a few nights in a row she starts getting angry, haha. I think she thinks I don't want to sleep in the same bed. Totally not the case, its not her I don't want to be around, just the bed.

    What can I do?
I took some brackets with metal loop and put four 3 inch long screws into it into a normal wall stud on each end of the hammock. Note that I slightly angled the screws inward to ensure they didn't just skim the edge of the stud. This held up two people in it just fine, combined weight of estimated 400 pounds. The bracket did push down into the drywall a little over time. If I went this route in the future I would simply trust a good weight load rated eyebolt into a pilot hole (to prevent wood spliting). Make sure you get the center of the stud with a stud finder and knocking. Also get some droop in there so the angle of the hammock puts some weight vertically on the studs.

    Outside?
The most comfortable hammocks around are meant to be used indoors.

Cannibal, Those are elegant. Showed them to my wife, she said she might try one!

Yeah, I could live without the fringes, but whatever it takes to get the girlfriend off the mattress.

I've been a full time hammocker for maybe 10 years now, with only occasional involuntary exceptions. Only way I can get decent sleep after an old back injury. Mayan in summer, Brazilian in winter. Also more comfortable (I think) to sit in for reading & lounging than a sofa or recliner, though I have a few comfy chairs, mainly used by the cats when they can't find any laps. And I think the Mayans and Brazilians are beautiful. I'm in hammock heaven!
