    Dutch's Next Invention

All the recent threads about tarp devices, hooks, crosses, etc., have me wondering about another opportunity for a device...

I (like many) am using prusiks or klemheists along a CRL to adjust the tautness of the tarp. Those work ok, but require a lot of turns with slippery small line. There's got to be a better way

So get to it Dutch, and others; how about a device that attaches at any point along the CRL and allows you tension the tarp?

    I'll be waiting patiently

hmm a challenge,...this could be fun. just have at it or are there limitations and goals to reach. i've got some vise grips i could start selling.

should i assume as light as possible and small?

the tarp key would work in this manor as long as you had a little loop on your tarp ring, it's more or less the inverse use of it. i'll try to do a video tomorrow explaining.

Something to replace prusiks and S-clips would be really cool.

Tarp to CRL directly with a method of adjusting tension. Love it! Make it so!

Shockcord loops spliced directly into the CRL?

What about the combination of a Dutch biner (to clip to your tarp) and a Dutch tarp flyz (to allow adjustability along the CRL).
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.

A plain carabiner works. Just wrap the ridgeline around it two or three times. Since it's only supporting the tarp, it doesn't need to be that strong. If anyone can re-invent the minibiner, it's Dutch.

How about.....the mini mini ti Dutch biner. Like WV said all you really have to do is wrap it around a biner a bunch of times. My mini mini ti biner weighs just a little more than a prussic and is plenty strong for even the windiest conditions.
