First night in the hammock for my son.

Typing from my hammock, out back of a friends house. My son (his trail name is now "not scared" because he said "i'm not scared" about 30 times on the car ride) is in my gt mod and improv bug net apparently sleeping soundly with my mp3 player and the quilt over his head. Im listening to a cat fight with something and wasting my phone battery when i should be sleeping. On that note... Further report in the morning

If that is how trail names are given out, my sons name is "Are We There Yet". Glad to hear he is having a good experience.

That's great! How old is not "not scared", and what was he not scared of ?

Well we had to bug out a little before dawn, due to extreme skunk smell and cat noises. We were worried a skunk or sprayed cat could ruin our gear. Good thing was up until then Not Scared slept soundly. I am super proud of him! He is 7 and he wan't scared of anything he said (except lions, and they are on the other side of an ocean according to him). Here is a little video I put together.

I Love IT, priceless too! Well done not scared! I wish I'd found hammock camping back when my boy was that age. My son just graduated from high school and we shared our first Hike/Hang. Great Vid too!

Awesome Finskie! That's a huge accomplishment for a little guy. It's one thing to sleep with dad in a tent, an altogether scarier thing to be alone in a hammock. Too cute when he laughs at his trail name and says he'd just as well stay out there forever

Great little guy you got there. Nice report, sorry to hear about your near miss with the skunk.
