Well, then introduce yourself and jump into the forums head first to build up your post count.

Hi, I go by "Sunthechip" on the Interwebs. I like the outdoors, and I prefer gear that is built to last, for example, Gransfors Bruks Axes - they are well made and come with a 20 year guarantee. I dont like REI (AKA walmart of the outdoors).

    Cold

I made the same mistake you probably made the 2nd time I went backpacking with a hammock. No bottom insulation. Try again with at least a pad under you.

Sore in the morning sounds like a sleep angle/ suspension issue.

Outdoors people don't tend to give up so easily. It goes against our nature.

I like this guy. Short, terse posts. Gets right to the point, no beating about the bush. sunthechip, sell the hammock for sure, but let me make you an offer. Build your own. I, unlike many here, have no sleeping preference. I have slept in a fleece blanket and 2 garbage bags under an overpass, on a pile of chains in an aircraft carrier catwalk while oil fires burned to starboard, with crude tarp tents, and just layed down in the grass and slept. I like hammocks because I got used to sleeping in them, and I can hang my hammock ANYWHERE, even really stupid places, with the right pieces of stuff. And I have slept in a hammock in 20 degree weather in a blizzard, so it can be done. And I was comfy. Well... coldishly comfy, but not so bad I couldn't sleep. Tents have their advantages, but you cant camp on the side of a cliff in a tent. And if you are selling the hammock, and "don't like tents either"... where are you sleeping, in the great outdoors? Hollow logs? Bear dens? What?
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.

If you are sore sleeping in a hammock, you are doing something very wrong.
