    Ridge line material

I'm working on my first hammock. I used 7/64 Amsteel Blue for the whoopee sling suspension. I was trying to make a whoopee sling from some 1.9mm Dyneema for tying down the tarp. I ended up using it for the ridge line. Will this be strong enough? It claims a 480 lb break strength.

Is this for your hammock ridgeline or tarp ridgeline? Either way it will be plenty strong. Some use 1.75mm Zing-it and others (me included) use Mason's line which I think is somewhere around 150lb. It's not supporting you, rather (in the case of a hammock) creating a consistent hang or (in the case of your tarp) it's just supporting your tarp.

I am using it for the hammock ridge line, but now I think I'll try it for both. Thanks for your help.

I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my DynaGlide. I went ahead and made a CRL from amsteel because I was bored yesterday but it's 1.8 oz. I have to get it lighter.
