Two ways for the caller to handle this would have been:
1. Call the Game Warden as the first resort.
2. Tell the deputy not to hurry, that the shooter died with your second return shot and he's not going anywhere.

Well I guess, "Hidden" Pond is not so hidden anymore. I guess this means I have to plan to camp there during the weekdays. Alcohol and firearms don't mix.

Now I know why some people don't detail their favorate locations, so this kind of stupidy does not occur. What a shame for Hidden Pond.

Just an update, the Marion county sheriff's office called me yesterday, the lieutenant there wanted to let me know that they went to the house that the owner of the vehicle they found at St. Pat's Trailhead, was registered to. The man invited the detective in, and the detective saw several rifles, along with semi to full auto kits. He arrested the man after he showed the detective an AK-47 with the kit installed. Not very smart. I gotta go today and identify him as one of the people at the pond.
