    Use a measuring tape at the house once to get the 'perfect hang' and then set it up at other lengths and discover 'perfect' isn't all that important to actually attain but more a useful goal to shoot for.
    Somehow my friend always ends up between two trees that are so close he has zero suspension line visible between the trees and the ends of his hammock. Sleeps just fine.

    Go hang with what you have available and enjoy yourself.
