Moab river trip - first hang

So I finally had my first hang in the outdoors. I accompanied some scouts on a Colorado river rafting trip. We traveled from SoCal and spent the night in Green River, UT. I slept like a baby. There were tons of mozzies so I wore a head net, which worked great, but I had already been eaten alive that night. We then traveled to Moab and got on the river.

We started at Dewey Bridge and spent one night at Hittle Bottom campground and two nights at Big Bend campground. Unfortunately, I had to sleep on the ground at Hittle Bottom, but there were a few places to hang at Big Bend. It was warm so I didn't use a pad/UQ. Worked great, although I did get a little cold butt syndrome one night in Big Bend when the temps dropped more than expected. I was too lazy too get out and set up my pad.

It was an awesome trip and temps didn't get too high. We actually enjoyed a rain/thunder/lightning storm during lunch on the river one day. We hit Arches NP on the way home. Some pics below.

I absolutely love the desert southwest! When I read the title of your post, I was thinking, "Moab?" where ya gonna hang there?

Some with climbing experience have contrived ways to hang from pins in rock. Although, that would be a disaster for me, I'm sure

It was my first time to the area. I've been to the Narrows, but not over by Arches and Moab. I'd love to go back and spend some more time there. Some more pictures...

I just visited UT for the 1st time. Did 75 miles on the Yampa and the Green. I want to do much more of UT, and Moab is high on the list.

How do you deal with your vehicle when you do a river trip?
