Making is an addiction that stops where?

Having finished my first sets of whoopies and nacrabiners, I'm moving onto tree huggers...

I can see why it could be satisfying to:

    sleep in a homemade hammock
    hanging on homemade suspension
    suspended from homemade tree huggers
    under a homemade tarp
warm in a homemade top quilt
    snug in a homemade underblanket
    Carried in a homemade backpack

You forgot the homemade stove and cookpot.
And then make all the kit for your family and friends.

Then theres designing your gear, backpack, clothes, hats, mittens, shoes, knives, saws, and of course more hammocks.

I'm looking at patterns for pants and shorts right now. Slowly making the quilt. Also some drawings for a UL backpack. If I can find a block of G10 I would work on a stock for my U.S. Survival rifle. I have yet to try the homemade stove... hmmm.
An emergency of my own making...is still an emergency.

I'm so desperate to make something, even though I've made everything I need, I'm planning a Karo quilt for my son's dorm bed away at college! It never ends!!

Yes to all the above(and then some). It's very satisfying, as a matter of fact.

Completed: Hammock, since converted to indoor use w/ attached polyfiber UQ; sls of muletape; PLUQ; 2nd hammock for the trail; Double fleece TQ w/ sheet all w/footboxed ends; Heiny pot and alky stove; Bugnet; Indoor stand. Many other projects hopefully will be completed before death. Probably not with all the new ideas on the Forum. A few in just the last few days.

Yup its an addiction. I'm doing my first underquilt and I probably could have purchased a fine one for a few dollars more but right now DIY is a source of pride and to purchase when I can DIY feels like a surrender! Ha Ha! \;-) Also made a canoe and two sea kayaks, paddles and a pulk. There's nothing like using your own gear in in the outdoors, custom made, cheaper and usually looks better.
