NICE! It reminds me of the Jack's R Better Hammock Hut. I really liked it, but Jack's stopped making them a while back (me sad) and didn't put a stove pipe passthrough in it. Your's looks OUTSTANDING my friend. The multiple pitch options and everything looks just great. Very impressed. Thanks for sharing.

Oh Great! Something else to make...

I got into winter camping in floorless tipis and tipi tents and modified one with a stove boot some time ago.

Now to combine the stove with the hammock is just irresistible...

Where did you get that stove? I might be able to convince my wife to go outside in the winter if I had one of those!

Smokehouse is using a TiGoat stove unless I'm very much mistaken

    Mine is a Kifaru.

Both are pretty pricey but there are cheaper alternatives around. Like most gear, cheaper mostly means bigger or heavier.

Hey Smokehouse, I notice your stove jack is quite low on the tarp. I know you want it out of the way. That also puts a lot of your pipe above the tarp, right?

Ever have any problems or concerns with the pipe's stability, like in windy conditions? Do you secure it somehow?

    Looks really cool I'm amazed it's only 30oz !

    Small TIstove
I went with the TIstove vs kifaru for 2 reasons. Weight and a damper. This stove weighs 2.5lbs and the damper controls the heat output. If your looking for an all nighter,,, this is not it,,, need a 4-dog-stove for that at 60lbs The TI stove at best is good for 2 hours. Most of the time with the wood u find,,, 30min to an hour is all u will get before feeding it again.

My pipe is 7' tall, I had bought the stove for a tipi I made, then got into hammocking,,, sooooo had to make something for that...Ever have any problems or concerns with the pipe's stability, like in windy conditions? Do you secure it somehow?

If its that bad windy,,, I don't use it. Its not secure, only by the stove jack, but I have tieouts all over the shelter. but again,,, if bad windy,, just play it safe and use it another time. Looks really cool I'm amazed it's only 30oz !
Thankee,,, if ur interested. here are some videos of the 1st one I made.

Nice looking rig. I have a design on paper which is very similar to yours in that its kind of tipi on one side, porch on the other,,,, but out of canvas. I have been sitting on the fence as to ordering the material and actually making it a project. Looks like yours is a light weight compact unit,,,,good job.
