Welcome to the forum from another noob out here in west Texas.
personal observation here: before moving to using amsteel blue / huggers for my suspension i used climb-spec webbing in a very similar setup as the warbonnet hammocks and yes your back end will be on the ground in short order. however after getting rid of the all webbing suspension i do do still use climb-spec for the tree huggers with a marlin spike and have not had any problems. the huggers are about 5.5' and the marlin spike is as close to the tree as feasible. that said, the general advice round these parts is to use polyester as Jerry mentioned.
