    WTB: WallyWorld Fabric

So after looking at close to a dozen WallyWorlds for some elusive $1.50/yd fabric I have come up empty handed. I want to experiment with a new design for a hammock but don't want to burn through my supply of 1.1 and 1.9. Does anyone have any fabric - that will hold about 200 pounds - they're willing to part with? I'm looking for at least 4 yards but the more, the merrier. Nylon? Polyester? Anyone? Please let me know what you have and what you'd like for the fabric and shipping costs.

    Thanks,
    Syb

I Might Be Able To Help

I think I can probably get you some WW ripstop fabric. However, here's the catch. I don't know what the fabric material is. I've purchased 2 bolts from them to make a tarp, but I've been hesitant because the tag doesn't specify the exact fabric material.

    Here's what the tags say:
    Road Show
    Fashion Fabric
    5 yard bolt

    Various blends/cotton/polyester/rayon/nylon
Machine wash cold Delicate Cycle Do not use bleach
Tumble Dry Low Use cool iron

    I think it's about 44" x 15' (I believe that's just over 6 yards)
It weighs 8.74 oz which, if I calculated correctly, makes it 1.3 oz. ripstop.

If you, or anyone else reading this, have experience with this type of fabric, I'd love to hear from you. I'd like to waterproof it and make a tarp, but don't want to waste my time if it's a material that won't hold up.

As far as pricing goes, I'll just buy some and charge you actual material costs + actual shipping (Unless you have a Heineken mini-keg you'd like to trade for it). In exchange, I hope to learn a little more about the fabric from you.

Every time I've gone to my local WW, I've been able to find some. I hope my luck doesn't run out.

Let me know if you're interested and how much you would like.

    WM fabric

If you happen to be up that way, the WalMart in Plattsburg NY had a HUGE fabric section the last time I was up there, and probably still has fabric because of the state arts college there. I bought 10 yds. of camo PU ripstop, all they had at the time.
Since I retired, some times I stay awake all day, some times all night.
