    Hiker from Washington State.

Never considered hanging instead of tent camping. What a cool idea! I have alot to learn since I know nothing about this. Going on a trip in a couple of weeks. I really want an experience with hanging, but do not think I have enough time to absorb and sreate before we go. Any "turn key" hanging equip out there?

    Welcome!
You've come to the right place to learn about the world of hammock camping!
If you haven't done so already, check out Shug's videos. It's a great place to start.
As for turn-key systems - there are several approaches. My wife and I started with ENO's OneLink system and were very happy with it. I recommend AGAINST their SlapStrap suspension though because it's super stretchy (which they deny). But their stuff is very well made and reasonably priced.
Others will recommend other outfitters. There are many great choices.
I often recommend newbies try to come to a community event. Hangers love to talk about their setup and will nearly always let you try out their hammocks. Just be considerate and kick off your shoes first.
Try different stuff but remember rule #1 - never hang higher than you are willing to fall.

The quickest and easiest setup to get is either a ENO or Henessy from REI. Otherwise you could check with any of the cottage mfg to see if they have a setup sitting on the shelf. Not likely as most of them seem to stitch to order.

Welcome aboard from Florida. If you get to hang on your trip and experience problems, don't give up, we're here to help. Two weeks is a very short period to absorb everything. I'm fairly new to the Forum myself, six months, 4 weeks into sleeping fulltime in my hammock and had to get up at 3:00 am to adjust an experimental hang. I just can stop playing with it, my hammock.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

Welcome to the forum. I wouldn't rush out and get a turn key setup. Take a little longer and do some reading around the forum. There are a number of hangers at the coast and also some in eastern wash. Maybe you can get together and check some out,,,,actually if you live near the coast you could announce a hang at a nice place , see how many folks can make it,,,,,take your tent and check out everyone's rigs.Everyone would be more than happy to show off their setup.
    cheers

Longview isn't all that far. You could come down towards Portland for one of the next hangs and I could bring an extra hammock for you to try and check out other peoples setups.

I am new here, as well as new to hangin', as well. As suggested, Shug's videos are extremely informative and entertaining to boot. In addition, although I have been here a short time, I have already experienced many people being very willing to help give me guidance and put up with questions that I am sure they have answered hundreds of times.

An especially nice feature of this forum is the fact that there are so many of the manufacturers of the various products who seem to frequent these forums and make themselves available to answer questions about their products. Who better than them to provide you with quality info.

Enjoy your time here. I have!
