I always tie my tarp up in it's snake skins, and only deploy it if/when it precipitates. I absolutely love laying there watching the stars. If I have to get up for a nature call in the middle of the night, I'll spend a short while star gazing yet again. Like a young child fighting off sleep so I can "play" some more. Something about it is very alluring to me.

I live in a city, small one but city none the less. I can see the stars from my back yard, but no where near how I can see them when I'm out in the back country.

Unforetunately trees and a comfy hamock have not allowed me to use it to its maximum capabilities.

I'm going stargazing next Friday with my nephew. We're taking an Orion XT6 and our hammocks and hope for some dark skies.

Being a city brat, I am always awe-struck by a truly starry sky.

Here's a picture someone took at the campground we're going to - if we have even half as nice a view we'll be pleased.
