    SN,

That was a great talk-through video. When you wrapped it up, I couldn't believe that much time had elapsed. Way to detail it all out like that.

    Thanks! Appreciate it!

I'm always surprised at the length of things - even after editing. Guess I have a lot to say

Duane, could you describe the path the whoopee sling and the shock cord goes through the Gear Hammock?

Thanks for the great videos. My Gear Hammock is sewed up and waiting for the cords.

OK, great question. In fact, I didn't do a good job of capturing that in my video, so I'll try to expand on it here. On the top and bottom of each side channel, right before the seam where the head and foot channels come across, I sewed in a very small piece of grosgrain ribbon and burned a hole through the middle of it. That allowed me to feed the 1/16" Shock Cord into the side channels.

I've attached a photo of one of the side channel feed holes and have made a very, very, very (did I mention very), crudely drawn diagram of the camp chair with it's cordage.

Hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions. Of course, it goes without saying that we are all looking for photos of your project

Crude drawing? Nah, made your cordage quite clear. Liked the grossgrain reinforcements. Did you add them early in the process so that they're concealed inside the hems or did I just not notice them in the videos?

Making a few of these for me and my kids just jumped way up on my DIY to-do list...

Thanks for providing the drawing. It makes perfect sense. I wish I had it before I sewed mine up. You might consider editing that into the video and or your first post in this thread.

I did add them early in the process. Now that I think about it, probably first or second thing. Probably best to sew the first side channel fold (if you need to like me. Sew in the grosgrain tab and burn the hole, finish sewing the side channel, then start working on the ends.

Glad to hear that you're going to work on them. Look forward to seeing yours.

Thanks for that! I agree that it would be nice to place in the first posting, but I don't have an edit button for that one anymore. Only the posts from the last couple of weeks.

The drawing clears everything up perfectly. Thanks!

I might have to try my hand at this great piece of gear.
