    Advice for indoor installation.

    I recently purchased:

    http://www.hammocks.com/hammocks/han...ocknatural.cfm

Should arrive in a couple days and I move into a new place this weekend, so I'm looking to install it Friday or Saturday.

The overall length of the hammock is 13 ft 4 in
My bedroom is roughly 15 ft x 11.5ft

Could you guys provide some suggestions for hanging setups. I know that I will be hanging from the studs, but not sure what type of eye bolt to use. Also what direction to hang in and what height.

Would directly to the eye bolts in the 11.5ft direction work, or would need some extenders between the eye bolt and the hammock end?

Raz Nj, welcome aboard from Florida. We have a couple of discussions ongoing about hanging indoors. Cannibal has two hammocks similar to yours hanging inside. I recall years ago hanging a porch swing on the grandparents front porch. We were able to access the crawl space above the porch where we placed a 2x6 perpendicular to the rafters. The swing eyebolts were then ran thru the ceiling and 2x6. Engineering was by guess and by God but it's still there with untold 100's of people safely supported. If you have access above where you plan to hang this may work for you.

See this post for info on how I hung my Brazilian indoors.

I have one hung from ceiling joists at home and one hung from studs at my lake house. I much prefer the ceiling joists. They don't creak when I get in and out of the hammock.

I hung my HH in the basement so I could experiment with a few things. I have exposed ceiling/floor joists down there so I just drilled 1" holes about 2 inches from the top of the beam. I smoothed it out and threaded my tree huggers through the hole so that there was a loop on each side of the beam, no special hardware needed and I get to lay in my hammock and watch tv!
