    My SB net spreader bars

Using two net spreader bars for a clark NX-150
    (20 bucks shipped from clark)
Don't use them all the time. They do a great job of keeping the netting open and weigh very little.
I usually store them in the hammock stuffsack.

Here's a shot of me in typical car camping mode with the SB,
HG 3S incubator, under an OES Delux tarp with GrizBeak.

    cool dude.

yeah dale said they stopped shipping em out due to costs.

good to see a collapsible option, at a lite weight.

i found adding some sort of net spreader (esp. at the head end) really opened up the hammock.
i used a bowed trail, but prefer something a little more dedicated and less prone to me accidentally biffing the netting with a gnarly stick.

looks nice man. thanx for showing us.
Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......

Can you give some specs on those? I got on the Clark website, but can't find them on there to look at. edit: found them, but no specs are provided

How short do they break down to?
What do they weigh? Don't need exact weight. Guesstimate is fine.

I'm using some cut down graphite arrow shafts for spreaders right now, but I sure like the looks of those spreaders you've got on your SB.

    Thanks for sharing!!!

I did a mod since my first picts, cutting the pieces so the connector is in the middle giving me 4 equal lengths of 12.5".
When your done modding the clark spreaders you will have two spare silver connector thingys
and 2 spare replacement shafts if something breaks. Don't loose any of the 4 rubber tip/feet. No spares.

total weight 4 pieces 1.30 oz

So if I'm following this right- your total assembled length for each spreader is 25"? Is that the right length for these? How much variability is there in that number? I was thinking the HF wire feeders at 13" each section, using two sections would be close to perfect. Yes?

Find my thread in the Clark sub forum on a crazy cheap alternative from Harbor Freight, especially if you are near one; dunno about shipping.
    http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=33974

Fiberglass electricians fish rods. $9 - $11. for TEN pieces!!, each 13" or 39", depending on the kit. They're a little heavier than Clarks, but flex nicely. Brass fittings.

Another source for similar to Clark is a kite shop.
