    Well for now I'll try 6' since that's the size I have mine cut to right now. I'm using 550 orange w/ reflective paracord. If it doesn't work out, I'll have to look into something different.

    Currently I'm using yellow braided mason's line with shock cord attached on tarp end to self tension. As for length, I use the scientific measurement of two arm spans.

    Well I have learned a lot from my posing this question. Lighter line, longer lengths, but not too much since they can be combined, and possibly having different length lines on opposite sides. Thanks for the suggestions.

    I have the below setup:
    4x3' mason whoopies
    2 or 4 x 6' mason whoopies
    I think i have a few extra of the 3' ones just in case.

    All are Larks headed onto my tarp tie outs for quick and easy adjusting.

    I use 8' for guy lines, that is more than enough for me. I do use longer for the ridge lines

    I use 5 footers and have extra cord if I need it.
