The WBBB is the forth different hammock i have bought and i can honestly tell you i will never have to buy any more, to me (6foot 7in and 18 stone) the blackbird was a dream come true..

I own and use several hammocks but if I am camping out over night its the BB. Love that footbox as it allows me streach out with out feeling like I am pushing against fabric and gives me someplace o put my dainty size 14 feet.

The footbox is the best of several excellent features in the Blackbird.

The only negative point I have found is that in some pitches, for whatever reason, I get just a tiny bit of pressure at the back of my calves where the natural gathered shape of the hammock pushes into it, while the feet can drape back down. It's completely unnoticeable when I have my footbox pad in place, and only mildly noticeable in some pitches when I have no pad in place.

I still love the footbox!

The footbox is what sold me on the hammock (and the shelf, and the full netting, and the side zipper, well mostly it was all the positive reviews on here, but the footbox definately was a big factor)

The way to correct that is to make sure that you have the right sag and also hang the foot end a bit higher than the head end. I've heard some hang the foot end as much as 8 inches higher, but I personally find that 2-3 inches is sufficient. This will also stop you from slowly sliding "downhill" into the footbox overnight.

I think the footbox is great. Main reason I love it is new hammockers. I am working with 5 new hammockers on set ups. I find new hammockers uninterested in the long conversations I go into about a diagonal lay. With my Hennessey its hard to explain where exactly to put ones feet. With the foot box all i have to say is put your feet in the box. Less headache for then and less explaining for me, super.

Agreed! I don't get the tad bit of pressure though. Enjoy the footbox, shelf and so on!
