Wags the JRB Stealth is a sewn through quilt as well....just 2oz heavier
so it would be almost the same thing

KK might want to look into a lightweight fleece ... i'd take my stealth if i get too hot just kick it off at least if the temps dip down you know you have it
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

Yea take the stealth. It's your lightest safety option out there just about. I wouldn't think twice about throwing it in the pack for safety. Most bag liners are relatively heavy and will not get you by if the temps drop. I always take my summer burrow.

the sierra stealth? i see 3+ ozs heavier and $50 more (assuming 900 fill down). a no brainer imo (unless you are planning to use it as your camp jacket).

You can trim down a poncho liner for a heavier, much cheaper, alternative to the above.

Also, warm clothing w/ a sheet works well, and is more versatile.

JRB recently discontinued a non-sierra version of the Stealth. It was essentially a lighter sewn-thru version of the No Sniveller. That's what KK said in the first post he already has and it's too warm.

I think the Stealth was listed as a 78"x48"x1.5", cinched footbox sewn-thru, at 15oz.
The Summer Burrow is listed at 78"x50"x1.5", cinched footbox, sewn-thru, at 12.2oz.

The specs are so similar that I don't think the Burrow would be noticeably less warm. The Burrow is doubtless a great quilt, just not the best option for KK since he wants something cooler.

i'm just posting what i'm using in the summer edited: oh i see what you mean. that i'm posting a quilt too similar to the one he has listed as being too hot...

karl have you considered losing the UQ and just rocking the top quilt?

perhaps getting the 2qzq UQP to stop wind from cooling you underneath is the ticket.

Super thing fleece here. Down to 50 degrees with a proper UQ. Dicks sporting goods for $10, then cut away and sewn a foot box. Weighs 11oz. Wish I was have cut it less wide, its super wide and I'm sure I could lose 2-3oz off of it.

Now that I got my GLP synthetic special ill use that in temps below 55 most likely, only 15oz. More than anything, the cheap fleece saves a trips wear on good quilts if they're not needed.
