I am gonna make a couple more, curved darts for a rounded end, like a bullet nose.

    DIY whoopie slings

I took a mesh stuff sack I bought in a thrift store and cut a couple threads on the mesh so a whoopie sling would slide though. It sits below the bury and tail for the sliding section of the whoopie sling. I stuff the hammock in it, draw it closed and wrap the whoopie sling around the bag. The one I found is long; I think it was for a folding chair or similar.

I want to design one that forms a weather beak over the head end of my Hennessy-- like the ends of a Clark. Think of a big funnel with a drawstring.

not to discount your nice looking work, but i have done it a different way, and i think it is exceptionally easy to make. Basically you take a piece of rectangle-shaped fabric with all sides hemmed, and sew 2, 1/2 inch (aprox.) channels on opposite edges. Then, making sure the seams for the channels are facing out, "fold" it in half joining the non-channel edges. Sew a zigzag stitch down the side, through both of the non channel edges. You should now have a tube, with channels in a circle on each end. All that is left is to put a drawcord in each channel, and at one end have a shorter drawcord, so it essentially makes a bottom to the bag. then at the other end have a full sized drawcord, so it is the top. In all other function it is the same, except you have the option to make the bottom hole slightly bigger/smaller if you need to pull something through. Anyway, i found it to be super easy to use and make, and i whip them out in about 5 minutes for the hammocks i make for my customers.
    Thanks,
    Dan

DaleW, that is a great idea. I can picture a few ways to that, which would be nice for me, my tarp is small.

hey, it is not one i have made completely...haha but i basically remade it after a friend ripped the tarp/bugnet off on accident! Ill upload some more pics of ones i have made... and i could send a lot to you if you were interested. I do mostly local business, and all marketing is word of mouth...friends of mine telling their friends about the hammocks i made them... but i have done a few sales to people through the internet before. I do not have a website yet, as i have not had a need for one. I will probably make one soon with a photo gallery though. My business is completely in the US and my suppliers are cottage industries as well...keep it in the country... PM me if you all are interested in a custom made hammock...
    Thanks!
