Hey everyone,
I am going to be heading out this week for Sturgis and am planning to stop the first night near West Plains Mo. Just curious if anyone knows of a "hang friendly" campground.

anyplace is hang friendly as long as you dont get caught.
I'm a Hammocker stuck in a tenter's body.....
Mark Twain National Forest is all over that part of the state. Anything in the National Forest is hammock-friendly.
I've spent many a night in Devil's Backbone Wilderness Area which is 15 miles west of West Plains. Also, large chunks of the Ozark Trail run through that region.
Although I've never tried it, there's also the White Ranch Conservation Area 8 miles south of West Plains.
Neat part of the State -- but things this time of year are VERY VERY hot, humid, and tick-friendly. Be careful to stay hydrated and don't over-exert yourself.
Have fun
David
The road goes ever on and on Down from the door where it began. Now far ahead the Road has gone, And I must follow, if I can, Pursuing it with weary feet, Until it joins some larger way, Where many paths and errands meet. And whither then? I cannot say.
