Lots of fabric! what to do?

Ok, so I've made my first gathered end hammock from some rip-stop nylon from Joanne's. It's super roomy. I used 4 yds and only cut off a little bit of fabric. Then I made some whoopie slings from 7/64 amsteel and a ridgeline from some zing it. Lastly was some 1" poly wraps and I was ready to roll. Now I'm done and I have a lot of brothers and friends who want to hang so......I have enough fabric for about 10 hammocks

. Yeah, it was on sale!
I figure I can just make what I've already done or if anyone has any better ideas or different designs I could try them as well. bug-net, foot-box.....I guess this is a pretty vague question but I'm open to ideas. I guess I figure it may be boring to make a bunch of hammocks exactly the same.

You could make some double layered hammocks for your fat friends.

Tarps, storage tubes/"snakeskins"/python skins, stuff sacks, pillow covers, bishop bags, big sacks that double as daypacks.. rain ponchos, gaiters, rain wrap/kilt, chaps for bushwacking...need more?

Congrats, hammock looks good. I think you better make your wife and kids one first or your goin to be in trouble

can I make a tarp with regular rip-stop nylon? I'm definitely going to make some sacks. I like the idea of some snake skins. I can probably use some excess fabric from a smaller hammock I'm gonna make. Thanks!

for sure. My four year old already called out the orange fabric and my wife and I have a pair of HH. I also have an ENO. I'm gonna need to to make some bug netting though. I saw the TED bug net on the forum that I'm gonna try. I don't have an UQ yet but I don't think nylon will help me with that...will it?

You can make your own silnylon, although it typically best to sew before treatment.

ripstop is fine for UQ and TQ -as long as it is close woven enough to keep the down from getting loose. even better than sil, for this in fact, since it will allow moisture to escape. admittedly other fabrics might be lighter or feel nicer, but ripstop is perfectly functional.

Take a look at HC4U's DIY-Henessy hammock... get some cheap zipper from DIYGEARSUPPLY.COM and build-in bugnets. The only mod I would make to the instructions would be to use the Warbonnet whipping method....

Joann's has "Fashion Tulle" that works pretty well.. the camo stuff looks pretty cool, and stops mosquitoes, but not no-see-ums.... DIY gear supply also has bugnet at reasonable prices.
