    Beautiful northern MI

Wireless signal is lousy up here(North of Alpena, MI), so I'll add to this when I get to a signal. We are spending some time away from work, at my wife's family's cottage. I brought the HH Explorer UL. I found a great place to hang, great views of the sky.
I set up my tarp under a paracord ridgeline, and rigged it almost flat to provide shade.

Later, I wanted to take a nap, I realized that if I fold the tarp over, it made it much cooler. (This only worked after the sun had peaked.)

I slept great last night, and I'm sure I will again tonight, lows in the mid 60s, with a nice breeze.
Also I lounged a bit with my buddy Mac the Cairn Terrier:

My wife is from Alpena, and we head up there a couple times a year. It is a beautiful area.

Looks like a fantastic area to hang. and a great partner to do it with!

We went for a walk by the harbor yesterday, and watched a mink catch fish after fish. I wish I had brought my camera along. I went back to the same spot today, and didn't see him/her. Hopefully I'll get a chance at a photo at some point.
A couple shots of the view:

Well I had success photographing the mink today. Unfortunately I have no way of uploading from my camera. I think the shots came out great. He heard the shutter, and crawled up onto a rock to check me out. Very curious little animals. I took a ton of pics, you can see his pink nose, and white blaze on his chest. I'll post them when I get back to my computer. Just a few days left, I'll be sad when this trip is over.
