Never been there. Would like to go next weekend. What can anyone tell me:
Do they allow hanging?
How is the fishing?
Any good trails?
Any better places very near to go instead?
Thanks for any help

i think it's a nice park. quite a few trails to hike on but nothing really long.
several nice water falls, but nothing very big. great views from the top of a couple of the mountains.
i don't know about the fishing but it is allowed in the lake (boats for rent too) & i believe there is trout fishing allowed in part of the streams (licence needed???).
as for hammocking, i don't know that they have a policy that states one way or another. i would just try it but if i could, i'd like to have a hammock stand as a back up in case the on duty ranger had a problem w/ it.
they have family camping (1st come, 1st served & tends to fill up on fri afternoon & eve.
i believe they have group sites (check the link about reservations).
and the do have backpacking sites (A-G i believe). nothing exciting but a pleasant place to get away. it's in & out on the same trail.
i wouldn't have any concern about hanging a hammock in the primitive group sites or the backpacking sites.
