I don't know if overnight parking is allowed at the 47 bridge. I'll be using the outfitter we have used in the past. Their website is http://www.santaferiver.com/

Basically we will launch 3 miles downriver which is past the portage area where the river is lowest. It will cost us 10 dollars to do that. Then we will have our jeep delivered to the HWY 47 pickup point on our departure day for 30 dollars. I will be happy to give anyone a ride back to their car at the outpost if they want to save the 30 bucks of transporting their vehicle down.

    Hope that helps!

    vehicle shuttle

We did almost this same trip in Jan '10. We all parked/launched at the outfitter and paddled to the end as a group. I believe we bit the bullet and had the outfitter bring the vehicles to the end point to us. I'm likely to have a trailer with 3 yaks so that's not bad split 3 ways. As Terri said I'm sure we can work out a shuttle if needed.

I hope it cools off a bit but if not....the springs are always cool.

This is very tempting... I don't have a yak or canoe, though. I would be willing to share a rental if anyone else is going that needs a vessel. I need to work on my schedule tomorrow.

We'll see what she says, but there're three things beyond that which might stand in the way.

    1. I work on Saturdays and am already taking two days off that week. I don't think I can get another shift covered.
    2. It's her first week back with the kids at school, so she may be very run down by the little hellions being, well, little hellions.
    3. We don't own a canoe or kayak(s).

While I definitely appreciate the invitation, I don't think I'm going to be able to make it to this one. Look for me in the Fall, though...

Well it the middle of the dog days and it is Florida, so it's a given it will be hot. That's okay though, it will just make the water all the more enjoyable!

Okay so I think we have going:

    Timberrr
    Gumbo
    Zukiguy
    Duffy ?

    Did I miss anyone?

Any specific meal requests? I think I'd like some fish.

Hey Timberr and Gumbo. Was just talking to the wife and she said she wouldn't mind coming up for the day on Sat. How would we find you all and if I remember, the santa fe has a strong enough current that paddling back to the outpost would be a bear would'nt it? Let us know. Would be great to see y'all again!
