Opinions on a double layer please

    Double layer 1.1.

    I am 6-3, 225.

I have the fabric cut now at 12' x 68" wide.

I want this a comfortable hammock so I do want it big, but I would like to cut a little weight out of it.

Is there any real difference in comfort going to 11' long ?

How about and or going to 56" wide ??

My tarp is long enough for a 12' hammock.

For maximum comfort at your height, I'd make it long (11 feet). After you seam the edges, it won't be a full 68" wide. I'm 6'5" tall and found the extra length at 11' (in a custom WB Traveller) to be more comfortable. At 10', it wasn't bad, but 11' was better for me. YMMV.

Definitely keep the full width, that can really add to the overall comfort. I'd recommend 11' by full width. I'm only 5'10" and while I use a 10" hammock, my 11' hammocks are extra comfortable.

Just echoing from above. Keep the width and go down to 11'.

Okay I just weighed my ripstop and it is 1 oz per yard even.
I am wondering if a double layer 1oz is good to go with me at 225#

Have you seen this link from Warbonnett? Provides good guides for weight limits.
And, keep the length and width. I'm 6'2" and my 11' X 60" hammock is dreamy.
