My son and I finally got time to make a hammock tonight. We think it turned out well. Got the material last week at JoAnns while it was on sale for $3.99 yard
Made it 10 foot long before hemming it and used channel ends with Whoopie slings I got from Stu a couple weeks ago, along with toggles. Got my tree straps from Arrowhead.
After my son trying it out, I had to try to try it and then another son and finally my wife. Heck, she even liked it and will probably won't one of her own soon. Not so sure she would sleep over nite it tho, to many bugs for her and things that go bump in the nite.
Stu, if you read this, thanks for making the video, that shows how to change out the ENO setup for Whoopie Slings.......couldn't have done it without the tutorial.
Now just have to figure out how to do the ridgeline deal and see if it gets a better lay, plus it would give me a place to hang things from and support a bug net later on, if I decide to tackle making one of those.....decisions decisions
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's patience with a newbie.
Also, my son is wanting to join the forum, but has not decided on a username yet
