I like 6' whoopies and 10' huggers but whatever works where you hang...

If you find the extra length too much, later on it's easier to remove length from your tree straps or whoopies than it is to add length

Thank you I will do that, just need something make a small fid to re bury the tail....
Tie a knot in the tail instead. All you need is some kind of stopper. Might want to heat seal the rope end.

Ditto. No need to get fancy. You just need something to prevent the tail from getting pulled through by accident.

Found this video by.....Opie XD well done my homework. It appears my theory is confirmed by his video in summary. 10 foot is a bit over kill...the good news in this. When i cut them down to 6-7 foot ill have some amsteel to play with and the money i spent on the 10 foot slings went to a good company.

    Thumbs up

Well, I tried wire....I tried thin instruments, pens, paper clips...anything that could be used as a fid.

I ended up ordering a Dritz Loop Turner...let me tell you, it got the job done in a flash. I ended up making a mini whoopie sling out of one piece and a two eyed piece and gave them away.

I screwed up on one back splice, i pulled a bit too hard and turned it almost inside out. XD well all in all it went well and now I have 6.5 foot whoopies =] thank you all for the advice and help
