    Finally! a 20F down quilt!

I've had, for many years, a Golite Fur quilt which was synthetic and, while light, bulky. I've been waiting for a decently priced, lightweight down quilt and finally GoLite heard my prayers and came out with the 20F Ultra down quilt.

"A premium 800-fill goose down, 20º sleep system that offers superior warmth, unmatched comfort and versatility for the ultra-lite purist. Waterproof Pertex® Endurance Arid Zones™ at the head and foot of the bag protect against condensation in critical areas. The comforter-style top can be attached directly to a sleep pad at variable girths for ideal temperature regulation."

At 1#3oz the weight was right...it's a little pricey but since I've been waiting so long, I was forced to buy it...it is so much easier to use a quilt in a hammock than a sleeping bag and actually, I didn't have anything that was in that temperature rating, quilt or bag, so, I guess I can justify it.

At least I got it with free shipping

    $225 isn't that bad of a price.

    Quilt or bag?

This appears to me to be a sleeping BAG, not a quilt?
    Is that correct?
    Have you received it yet?

Annie, it's is, of course, a quilt, not a bag...no bottom...that's why I posted this under the thread title...I ordered it yesterday so no, it is not here yet. Found one on Backcountrygear's website...There are plenty of quilts out there but this is what I've been waiting for although I wasn't too keen on the color...I liked having the head and foot ends using Pertex...not an issue in a hammock but I have been known to have the foot end of bags touch damp, single wall tent walls...

That's a really nice looking quilt. The price isn't that bad is you compare it to something like Nunataku Arc Alpinist which sells for ~360 for a 20* quilt.

The price is consistent with similar products such as the JRB series - Hudson River, Nest, and No Sniveller. They all have the same amount of loft but are not advertised as 20 degree quilts.

Bag ratings are notoriously unreliable and varied...I went for loft, fabric, design and weight...price entered into the equation also, of course...I've found that what keeps others warm at 20F doesn't work for me below 32F...I'll be happy if it keeps me warm when it's around freezing and I do not have to wear everything I own to keep from freezing...I'm exaggerating a bit, of course...
