My "Blackcat" tarp with "Dutch Rings"

Finally finished my sil "Blackcat" tarp. The tarp is about 10' wide with 12' ridge line, grosgrain all around edges. Ridge line loops are equipped with "Dutch Rings"(not available at a store near you) Many thanks to the amazing Dutch! The outer loops are equipped with my own Diy plastic D-rings! (I'm impatient, long story) This was my first major sewing(That's right I said sewing!)project. Many lessons learned. I would also like to thank all those who came before me that are to numerous to name. I could not have completed this tarp without this forum and the great people here.

    Here she is!

Dutch Rings (No, my hand is not gigantic!)

My amazing Diy plastic D-rings! (not so pretty but functional)

You did a good job of putting that locked brummel on the lash it. That looks sharp and you can remove it easily to put in another tarp. Dutch rings look good, I'm glad they went to good use. Your going to love that tarp I can tell. My first big sewing project was a tarp and it is still on of my favorite pieces of gear.

    Seriously good job on that.
    Peace Dutch

This is a lot like yours, same dimensions if I remember yours correctly. I was not unable to use the actual Blackcat pattern though, I don't have MS Excell so I had to use the "string" method to get cat curves. this method may be more difficult but worked well.

Ooh, can I ask about Aboyd's pattern or whoever had the pattern? I am looking to build something almost exactly like yours and would love to see a pattern...

I don't have the link but if you search "blackcat" you should find it easily, there is a tutorial that has an excell sheet that will calculate the cat cut for you. I was unable to access this so I just used big piece of underlayment paper, draped string from one corner to the other at the desired depth of cut and traced it. I'm not sure if this makes any sense, hard to explain, so hopefully you can access the "calculator".
