    First post & first hang.....Australia

First up fella's.....fine, informative forum you have here, waded through some of the vast amount of info in here & took the plunge.....the package arrived on thursday.

A few trial hangs in the garage....then like a kid with a new toy, took off for a overnighter to Mt May, Queensland, Australia, over the weekend.

    The track on Mt May

    Catching my breath...

The blood, sweat & tears was all worth it..

    Flora along the way

These boots are made for walking

Set up camp before the light faded & temperature started to fall.
    Room with a view.

Cool windless night with only a few light showers....tap tap tapping on the fly.
Warm & dry....& not a hint of back pain !

    Morning sunrise

    Another convert.......

    Cheers,

Nice work ofuros, talk about a room with a view!

Good to see another first time hanger from Aus here. I only had my first overnight hammock camp last week and not too far away, about 100 clicks to the southeast of Mt May at a place called Nightcap National Park/Mt Jerusalem.

Perfect time of year for it around here, not too cold not too hot, but I feel being in a hammock in the heat of summer will beat a tent anyway with all that air circulation...

and I'll be going out again as soon as I can find the time/get a leave pass from the missus!

    Thanks Phan-tom,
Its been a dry winter for us Queenslanders so far, but I'm loving the endless clear blue skies, star filled nights & crisp mornings...

Mt May can be done as a day walk....but I was in no hurry, taking my time.
As you said, finding the time is half the battle.

I think this hammocking business is going to be very addictive......

    Cheers,
