    A lot of people find air mattresses cold. Comfortable, but cold. That could be part of the explanation.

    Apart from that I guess your head is covered and that you have eaten and feel warm before going to bed?

    I found that when on the ground in cold weather the Exped Downmat 9 did a great job of insulating between me and the ground.

    I have that modular bag and am verry happy with it in a hammock and pad and clothes down in the teens.
