    Shock Cord Tarp Tensioners?

Does anyone have a good resource for tying in the shock cord tarp tensioners to Ed's no-tangle guylines? I've looked and all of the directions I've found are for the type with surgical/slingshout tubing. Any good links? Am I just missing something?

We talked about that the other day. Here is a link to the post http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...3760#post53760 . HC technique is linked in the post right above that one.

No offense, Youngblood, but your document download links don't work for me. I re-hosted that doc in the post above. If you like, feel free to use the link in the future, or I'll remove it if you prefer.

I don't mind. The links to files on the Yahoo hammockcamping Forum sometimes work and sometimes they don't. That forum has a lot of the history for hammock camping and predates WhiteBlaze and Hammock Forums, but its use has been in decline. That forum was an off-shoot of the Yahoo BackpackingLight forum when hammock talk started growing and needed its own place.

    Thanks, guys. I'm going to use HC's method; 1) Because it's easy. 2) I can't Youngblood's to open.

Goin to give it a go now, we'll see how it turns out. Thanx again!

Either one will work. If you are a member of Yahoo's hammockcamping forum and are logged in, you can view mine in the Files section under my name. There are two files associated with it, one shows how to tie a clove hitch knot using the two-loop method and the other file shows how I attach the shockcord and guyline together using the clove hitch knot. There are lots of photos in those two documents for those of us who cant read rite.

    Question

When cutting your cord, do you folks do anything to neaten up the ends, like burn them?

I singe mine... I'll be interested to know what other folks do too.

I either singe them, medium rare , or cut them with a hot knife/soldering iron.
