Enjoyed the trip report. Nice to hear about all the support you got, just when you needed it, too! Thanks for sharing. Get well soon.

sorry to hear how your trip has ended, but thank you for the trip report.

I hiked from the delaware water gap to vermont earlier this spring, we had alot of rain but still a great trip. Didnt have as hard of a time as you hitching rides in NJ NY, most of the time i didnt even try just sitting on the side of the road airing out my feet and people just stopped.

I hope you stayed with tom in dalton mass, such a nice guy to let hikers stay at his house. he made home cooked meals, drive you to walmart or the mall and slackpack you over greylock, and he would not except a penny in return. i ended up paying him back helping fix chains on his bikes and pumping up the tires (he also lets the hikers use them to go to the store).

well once again thanks for the trip report!

Sorry to hear about your journey ending like that! We must have crossed paths at some point on the trail...My wife and I have been sobo since Katahdin....(currently at home nursing a wrecked ankle...which happened on Wednesday )

That stretch where this happened is one of the tougher sections on the northern part of the AT. We slackpacked that section (from the White Mtns Lodge and Hostel as well) and it was a day of pushing all day long. The climb where this happened is steep and scrambly!

Wow! You are a very fortunate man. That could've been someplace remote.
I'm keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery, gotta see ya' in the Big Ditch soon. Really glad that you're doing better. Say hi to Anne from the Burrito Clan!

Chop We met South of Orr Hill Shelter July 27. Beardo and Sweet Pee, correct?

Sorry to hear you are off also. The trail will be there when we are all able to go at it again.
